Elena Vazintaris is a Choreographer, Movement Director and Film Maker based in New York City.
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Elena had her start dancing for artists like Ludacris and Shakira. She has been featured in Nike’s Body By Dance Print Campaign, Nike Retail Video Spots, Converse and Fuse Television commercials, as well as the MTV Video Music Awards.
Elena's choreography, that fuses, contemporary dance with more commercial aesthetics, spans fashion editorial, film, music video and the stage. Many of her projects have garnered attention from international film festivals, winning awards and nominations at SXSW, Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film and featured in Rolling Stone, Tribeca Film, Dazed Digital, Schön Magazine, Vh1, MTV and Noisey. Other music video's, commercials and clients have included Refinery 29, Big Data, Cool Uncle, Kate Spade, Hugo Boss, Marella, Banana Republic, Gap, J.crew, Madewell, Converse and Laura Mercier.
As a director, Elena’s films have been featured in Glassbook Magazine, Blanc Magazine, and screened at international festivals like La Jolla Fashion Film Festival, Bestias Danzantes Dance Film Festival (Chile), FIVC International Videodance Festival of Chile and Miami Fashion Film Festival.
She has had the opportunity to work a long side some of the top Directors, Dp’s, artists, stylists, designers, in many different industries, from the commercial and concert dance worlds, to fashion and design. She has had a career spanning two decades, in front and behind the camera, forging a unique perspective into conceptualizing and implementing ideas, producing her own personal work or breathing life into that of her clients.
Elena resides in Brooklyn with her husband and two sons.
